The nine piece ensemble Blue Moon is an exuberant, colorful and soulful music group mixing straight ahead and Modern Jazz with Classical and New Music. With rich, modern arrangements, Blue Moon offers an opulent listening experience, filled with exciting harmonies and brimming with passionate improvisations.
Founded in 2009 by Bernhard Haaks with a vision to tell the story of modern music, the Blue Moon Ensemble is reaching to the musical roots of the Old and New World. Blue Moon’s interesting instrumentation of a classic Jazz Sextet, adding Violin,Violoncello and Clarinet, lends itself to the exploration of a multitude of musical settings with the ability to stay true to its roots in Straight Ahead Jazz.
